Session 1 – Do your staff need uplifting? Enthusing? Inspiring? Do your colleagues need a reminder as to why teaching is the best job in the world… then this opening session will combine humour with real life experiences to bring us all back to our ‘why.’
Then we will move on to reflecting; What is Adaptive/Quality First Teaching and what does this look like in a classroom? This gives all attendees a chance to reflect on their current practice in a non-threatening, non-judgemental way.
It will spark reflection and changes.
Amjad will ask attendees to consider what a classroom looks like…
Amjad will provide low effort, high impact take away strategies to turn Quality First Teaching into practice. Session 1 will allow for teachers to think about their practice, irrespective of their subject or the age of the students they teach. They will Try, Refine and Ditch!
Session 2 – A session on developing effective routines for learning or Overcoming barriers, or a session on What Every Teacher Should know… enquire to find out more! This can then followed up by examples of low effort and high impact teaching and learning strategies to engage and inspire our students based on ideas from www.trythisteaching.com/toolkit
He will leave all staff a challenge to ‘Try One Tweak a Week.’
Session 3 – Departmental Time to reflect; Amjad will provide a directed task to allow time to build on learning from first two sessions. This will give an opportunity for departments to plan short, medium and long term goals based on key takeaways from the INSET.
A Separate session for support Staff/Teaching Assistants can be delivered if required, during departmental time. Or Amjad will go round to Departments answering and working on any specific areas.
Session 4 – Internal TeachMeet/Sharing- Amjad will host and facilitate an internal sharing of ideas. Staff will,
Session 5 – Review and reflection- Amjad will close the day summarising the key learning and actions!
All of this will be delivered in an engaging and humorous style with accompanying notes/presentations provided.
