Terms & Conditions

1. Introduction

These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your subscription to the TA CPD Hub, an online professional development platform for Teaching Assistants, operated by Try This Teaching (“we”, “us”, “our”). The platform is accessible at trythisteaching.com/ta.

By subscribing to the TA CPD Hub, you (and, where applicable, your school, academy or trust) agree to be bound by these Terms. Please read them carefully before completing your subscription. If you do not agree to these Terms, you should not proceed with your subscription.

These Terms form a legally binding agreement between you and Try This Teaching. For school, MAT or federation subscriptions, “you” refers to the subscribing institution and the named account administrator.

2. About the TA CPD Hub

The TA CPD Hub is a subscription-based professional development ecosystem designed exclusively for Teaching Assistants. The platform provides access to, but is not limited to, the following features (which may be updated or expanded over time):

  • Monthly CPD video modules with accompanying quizzes and completion certificates
  • A resource library including templates, strategy cards and pupil profile guides
  • Live monthly webinars and access to the webinar archive
  • A built-in CPD Reflection Journal using the Try, Refine, Ditch framework
  • A private moderated community space for subscribed members
  • A school management dashboard for SENCOs and nominated administrators

We reserve the right to update, modify or expand the features of the platform at any time. We will endeavour to communicate any significant changes in advance.

3. Eligibility and Account Registration

Subscriptions are available to schools, multi-academy trusts, federations and individual Teaching Assistants based in England and Wales. By subscribing, you confirm that:

  • You are aged 18 or over (or are subscribing on behalf of an institution);
  • You have the authority to enter into this agreement on behalf of your school or organisation, where applicable;
  • All information provided during registration is accurate, complete and current.

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials. You must not share your account with individuals who are not named subscribers under your plan. Any breach of this may result in suspension or termination of access without refund.

4. Subscription Plans and Pricing

The TA CPD Hub is offered on an annual subscription basis. Pricing is structured by the number of Teaching Assistant seats required. Current subscription tiers are published on our website at trythisteaching.com/ta and are subject to change for new or renewing subscribers.

All prices shown on our website are exclusive of VAT. VAT will be added at the applicable rate at checkout.

Individual TA subscriptions are available on a monthly basis at the rate published on our website at the time of subscription.

For schools with 30 or more TAs, multi-academy trusts, or learning partnerships and federations, bespoke pricing is available. Please contact us at katie@thelearningline.co.uk to discuss your requirements.

Early adopter pricing, where offered, is valid for the initial subscription year only. Standard pricing will apply upon renewal.

5. Automatic Renewal and Cancellation

Important: Your subscription will renew automatically unless you notify us in writing that you wish to opt out, at least 30 days before your renewal date.

5.1 Annual subscriptions will automatically renew for a further 12-month period at the end of each subscription year, at the then-current standard rate unless otherwise agreed in writing.

5.2 Monthly individual subscriptions will automatically renew on a rolling monthly basis until cancelled.

5.3 Opt-out notice: To prevent automatic renewal, you must notify us in writing at least 30 days before your renewal date. Written notice must be sent to: info@trythisteaching.com. Please include your school or organisation name, the name of the account holder, and your renewal date in your notification.

5.4 We will send a renewal reminder to the email address associated with your account no later than 45 days before your renewal date. It is your responsibility to ensure your contact details are kept up to date.

5.5 If opt-out notice is received fewer than 30 days before the renewal date, the subscription may be renewed and the full renewal fee charged. In such circumstances, we will review requests on a case-by-case basis and are not obligated to issue a refund.

5.6 Upon valid written opt-out, your access to the platform will continue until the end of the current subscription period. No partial refunds are issued for unused time within a subscription period.

6. Payment

Payment for subscriptions is processed securely via Stripe or by invoice, as agreed at the point of subscription. By providing payment details, you authorise us to charge the applicable subscription fee.

School and institutional subscribers may be invoiced. Payment terms are 30 days from the date of invoice unless otherwise agreed in writing.

In the event of a failed payment, we will make reasonable efforts to contact you. Access to the platform may be suspended if payment is not received within 14 days of the due date. We reserve the right to terminate the subscription if payment remains outstanding after 30 days.

All fees are non-refundable except where required by applicable law or as expressly stated in these Terms.

7. Access and Permitted Use

Upon receipt of a valid subscription and payment, we will provide login credentials to the nominated account administrator. For school subscriptions, the administrator may then add individual TA members up to the number of seats purchased.

You may use the platform solely for your own internal professional development purposes, or, in the case of institutional subscriptions, for the professional development of your employed Teaching Assistants.

You must not:

  • Share your login credentials with any person who is not a named subscriber under your plan;
  • Reproduce, distribute, publicly display or commercially exploit any platform content without our prior written consent;
  • Use the platform in any way that is unlawful, harmful or disruptive to other users;
  • Attempt to reverse engineer, copy or extract any content or technology from the platform.

8. Intellectual Property

All content on the TA CPD Hub, including but not limited to CPD modules, videos, resources, templates, webinars, frameworks and written materials, is the intellectual property of Try This Teaching (Amjad Ali) and is protected by copyright law.

Your subscription grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to access and use platform content for internal professional development purposes during your subscription period. This licence does not permit you to reproduce, share externally or use content for commercial purposes.

The Try This Teaching name, logo and TA CPD Hub branding are trademarks of Try This Teaching. You may not use these without prior written permission.

9. Data Protection and Privacy

We process personal data in accordance with applicable data protection law, including the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018. Further information is provided in our Privacy Policy at trythisteaching.com/privacy-policy, together with our Cookie Policy and Right to be Forgotten information.

Where you subscribe as an individual, Try This Teaching will normally act as controller for the personal data needed to administer your account, subscription and use of the service. Where a school, academy, MAT, federation or similar organisation provides or manages staff accounts, that organisation is normally the controller for its staff data and Try This Teaching acts as processor for the purposes of delivering the TA CPD Hub.

Hub data may include names, contact details, organisation and role information, account and membership status, CPD allocations, learning progress and completion records, quiz activity, Learning Time, certificates, Reflection Journal entries, saved resources, support communications and related platform activity. WooCommerce may retain customer and order information. Raw payment card numbers and card security codes are not stored by the TA CPD Hub; electronic payments are processed by Stripe.

We use appropriate service providers to operate and secure the platform, including UK hosting, technical support, website security/CDN, transactional email, payment processing and, where enabled and consented to, website analytics. Details of relevant providers and international transfer safeguards are maintained in our Privacy Policy and Data Processing Agreement.

For school and Trust subscriptions, we will process staff data only on documented instructions from the subscribing organisation, except where otherwise required by law. A Data Processing Agreement containing the terms required by Article 28 UK GDPR is available for school and Trust customers and forms part of the data-processing arrangements where applicable.

When a subscription ends, access may be disabled immediately. Hub personal and learning data will be retained only for the period set out in our Privacy Policy and/or the applicable Data Processing Agreement, including any agreed export window, after which it will be deleted or anonymised unless continued retention is required by law. Financial and transaction records may be retained for longer where required for accounting, tax or legal purposes.

We do not sell personal data. We do not use school staff data supplied for the Hub for unrelated third-party marketing. Data subjects retain the rights available to them under UK data protection law, subject to the applicable controller/processor relationship and legal exemptions.

10. Platform Availability and Changes

We aim to make the TA CPD Hub available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. However, we do not guarantee uninterrupted access and may take the platform offline temporarily for maintenance, updates or technical reasons. We will endeavour to provide advance notice of planned downtime where possible.

We reserve the right to update, modify or discontinue any feature of the platform. Where a significant feature is removed, we will provide reasonable notice and, where appropriate, consider a proportionate adjustment to subscription pricing for affected subscribers.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Try This Teaching shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential or special loss or damage arising from your use of, or inability to use, the TA CPD Hub.

Our total liability to you in connection with your subscription shall not exceed the total fees paid by you in the 12-month period immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim.

Nothing in these Terms shall limit or exclude our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited by applicable law.

12. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your subscription with immediate effect if:

  • You are in material breach of these Terms and, where the breach is capable of remedy, you fail to remedy it within 14 days of written notice;
  • Payment is not received in accordance with Clause 6;
  • You use the platform in a manner that is unlawful or harmful to other users.

In the event of termination for cause, no refund will be issued for any remaining subscription period. You may terminate your subscription by providing written opt-out notice in accordance with Clause 5.

13. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the TA CPD Hub shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

We aim to resolve any concerns informally in the first instance. If you have a complaint, please contact us in the first instance at info@trythisteaching.com and we will do our best to resolve the matter promptly.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in our services, legal requirements or business practices. We will notify you of material changes by email to your registered address no later than 30 days before the changes take effect.

Your continued use of the TA CPD Hub after the effective date of any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you must notify us in writing and cease using the platform.
