What’s your point?

Resources:

You will need paint cards which I ordered free of charge from Dulux. You can also get them from any local DIY store or simply create them yourself using Microsoft Word.

I made one set and then had the rest photocopied and laminated.



What to do:


I used the cards to develop paragraphs

  • Point
  • Evidence
  • Explain
  • Deep Analysis
  • Word
  • Effect 

analysing extracts from a novel with a low ability key stage 3 group.

Essentially, they are writing drama which allow for a diverse response and pupils can pick and choose their own whilst being independent in their own learning.



Variations:

You can change what sentence stem you would like.
