What to do:

A colleague asked me to review when the ‘crunch’ points of our School Calendar may be. In order to do this they introduced me to a Gantt Chart.

‘A chart in which a series of horizontal lines shows the amount of work done or production completed in certain periods of time in relation to the amount planned for those periods.’

So, I went out plotting the key whole school tasks down the first column. Then alongside these tasks, I put the dates, in week order. The next task is to then place when these tasks are expected to be completed. A good calendar would avoid teachers/middle leaders having crunch points.

In the example Gantt Chart above, you can see how we have managed this!
