I’ve signed for another book!

I’m really pleased to share that I’ve signed to write another book in the A Little Guide for Teachers series!

My first book, A Little Guide for Teachers: SEND in Schools, was published in 2024 and was written to give teachers a practical, accessible and genuinely usable introduction to SEND — something you can dip into, take ideas from and actually apply in school.

The response to that book has been incredible, so I’m delighted to be returning to the series for another topic that has become an increasingly important part of my work:

Teaching Assistants.

The new book will explore both sides of that relationship: how teachers can work more effectively alongside Teaching Assistants, and how TAs themselves can develop their practice and maximise their impact on pupils.

Expect plenty around independence, scaffolding, deployment, communication, supporting without doing, and, of course, practical low-effort, high-impact ideas.

It feels particularly timely alongside the work I’m now doing with schools around effective TA practice.
