Synonym Bingo!

Resources: Keyword/Specialist language lists Bingo grid What to do: Hand students either pre-populated grids using ‘simple’ words, or using a wordlist provided ask students to fill in their grid.  When calling out, you must then use synonyms of those words.  When a student finds a match they write that word below the word on their grid.
For bonus points they should write down other synonyms! Variations:
  • Get students to create the word lists and read out the synonyms themselves?
  • Use keywords instead?
  • MATHS- use terms and the alternatives for them as the synonyms. E.G- Add= addition, Times= multiply etc!
