Try This When teaching today catch students being good. Avoid “looking” for things to tell students off about, but instead, notice the bright spots. Highlight them. And through Proximal Praise get everybody wanted some positive affirmation. #TryThisTeaching

Try This… Instead of students saying, I don’t get it, I don’t know what to do. I’m stuck. Get them to say… “Help me with…” It’ll take training, and help, but once they’ve nailed it, it’ll work wonders!!! #TryThisTeaching

Try This… Instead of highlighting important or useful information ask students to highlight words/phrases/items they DO NOT understand or know. Even after taking notes. That’s your visual feedback to build on and help with. #TryThisTeaching

Try This? Simply cut and paste slides from previous lessons into one PowerPoint in any order. Show the students a slide at a time. Get them to discuss what was taught/learnt when they last saw that slide. Discuss. Repeat. #TryThisTeaching

Try This? Today in class, whenever you set a task, say how long it should take and why, what noise level is expected and why and then ask two students to repeat back what the task is, length of task and expected noise level. #TryThisTeaching
