KWHL Grid-Research and explore

The KWHL grid can be used in a variety of situations The strength of this process is that it starts from childrens’ ideas, so misconceptions and previous learning can be identified and pupils are very much involved in their own learning.

KWHL grids

What do I know?
What do I want to know?
How will I find out?
What have I learnt?

How It Works:

Pupils identify the evidence which will be needed and plan how this will be collected.
They can then reflect on their learning at the end of the investigation.

Variations:

Pupils can use diagrams, pictures, draw images and annotate to express their learning.
