Toolkit

Start with a THUD

Resources: None

What to do: Get students to write the letters T H U In the margin of their books. In capital letters with a line space between each letter.

T= Title, H= Handwriting, U= Underline and D= Date.

When they have done those things to a good standard, they can tick them off. Ask them to start all lessons with a THUD and to ensure they have done all that the letters represent. When marking students books you can also just tick or cross these letters rather than writing the same instructions over and over!

Variations:

Add S.

S= Smart.

All the students “Is your work SMART overall?”   Credit to @JMAcademy1 for this idea!
