Welcome Back

Resources:

Feel free to download this document and edit/amend to your liking!

What to do:

As students return to our classes from March 8th, then the first thing we need to ensure is that they know we are happy to see them and so glad to have them back.

We also need to try our best to break the media frenzy that they have missed out of £40,000 worth of learning and that they have an insurmountable amount to catch up on!

So here are some ideas…

Firstly, download the editable document above, add in your relevant information and get students to fill it in.

I have added this fab image below from @Lamb_Heart_Tea

Then offer as many different ways to ascertain how much students know, and inform them clearly what they need to know by say the end of the academic year/before their ‘exams.’

Retrieval ideas:

The Author of two fantastic books about Retrieval Practice Kate Jones- has compiled a list of resources for you to use here.

Or download this resource here too.

Tom Sherrington has written this useful blog too- click here.

Variations:

Ask your students to say ‘Help me with’ rather than ‘I don’t know what to do.’

Or check out these other posts- How to Get To Know Your Students.

Or some offline learning, or internet based resources to support learning
