What to do:

Place these images on the students desks- as they walk in ask them to…

  • Think of as many words as they can
  • Make up a word linked to the lesson objective
  • Make up as many words linked to the last lesson and so on...
The difference is however, the tiles have scores- so students then figure out who has made up a word with the most points.

NUMERACY LINK:

Get students to make words up to a certain value that you present them with (Make sure it is achievable!) Ask students to figure out other students scores? 

Make a bonus prize- if the student makes up the word you have decided- give them a prize!
